Longing Lovers

"Eeva Rinne is a photographer who plays with the genres of portraiture and fashion. Rinne has studied photography since the age of fourteen and she is a striking image maker, picturing youth and style. Rinne often uses her friends as models to create a tender intimacy within her images.

In the exhibited series Rinne has explored the relationship between long- distance lovers and the inability of language to describe the longing for an absent partner. The intimate installation has art-historical references; from icons and altar paintings to contemporary photography. Most of all Longing
Lovers is an universal love story in which everyone who has experienced missing a loved one can relate."
